What should I know about laser hair removal?
A small handpiece will be used that touches the skin to deliver the laser light. Cryogen spray will cool the skin just before each laser pulse.
Both you and your practitioner will wear safety eyewear to protect your eyes from the laser light during the procedure.
The procedure can take as little as 10 minutes or up to an hour, depending on the area being treated.
The treated area may become pink or red within 30 minutes of treatment; this may last from a few hours to several days and is relieved with the application of a cooling compress, cold gel pack or cooling gels.
Dr. Stacy Haynes is a Dermatologist in Alabama with offices in Oxford and Birmingham. She is certified in mesotherapy and a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Mesotherapy. She has been a private practice for over 13 years. Her medical school training was completed at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. After finishing a year of pathology at VA Wadsworth Medical center in California, she completed her dermatology residency at King-Drew/UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. With the help of her Physician Assistant, Mui, Nurse Practioner Christa Steen and Medical Aestheticians, Jill and Katie; she has developed an intergrated approach to the treatment and management of skin conditions. This approach incorporates traditional medicine, cosmeceuticals, and non-invasive procedures. She and her team are dedicated to the enchancement of natural beauty. She is married to Dr. Artie C. Nelson; who is a psychiatrist also practicing in Birmingham. They have 2 daughters, Kamaria and Janaya.
