Hair Removal
Since 1995, dermatologists have been able to offer safe and effective removal of unwanted hair through the delivery of heat energy in laser form. While no method of hair removal is 100% permanent, advances in laser development now offer the most permanent method of hair removal. Moreover, recent laser devices allow those of ALL skin tones to be candidates for treatment. At Southview, we use one of the few lasers in the Birmingham area that can safely treat virtually any patient, regardless of skin tone.
It is important to realize that the best results of laser hair removal are seen after a series of treatments. Though an improvement can be seen after as few as one treatment, most patients seeking complete hair removal will require a series of 6-10 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Laser hair removal is able to improve the appearance of unwanted hair and folliculitis in the face, beard, bikini, back, legs, arms and underarm areas.
